Now, a motley crew of military service members, government workers, and lowly technicians find themselves thrust into the center of the infamous site's darkest mysterie...。故事以清末民初为背景展开，讲述湖北某小镇发生了一起轰动的杀人劫镖案，走镖人秦刚诡异惨死，小镇警探邓泷被任命调查。邓泷和助手宋飞烟勘察现场后不久，便将嫌疑人锁定为一名叫陈天河的男子。被捕的陈天河对案件供认不违，直接承认了杀人案是自己所为，这让邓泷心生疑惑，随即派宋飞烟继续调查，搜集有可能会遗漏的细节。案情就在此时向着意料之外的方向展开，事情远没有邓泷等人想象的那么简单。原来，这一切都始自于十年前的一宗被错判的案子……。
