张国荣在片中饰演一个爱好打鼓和音乐的青年，他向往将自己的音乐传播到四面八方，对于时常流行的音乐他认为是没有灵魂的，他在酒吧和音乐坊为喜欢音乐的年轻人演奏。有一天被一个制作人发掘，要捧他做明星，却设置了种种限制，让哥哥觉得失去了人生的自由和爱好音乐的灵魂，然后他远离了名利场，选择水为真正爱好音乐的年轻人演奏。其间他的坚持不馁但得到了伙伴们的支持也得到了爱情，最后在他的自我努力下，不但使得他的音乐推向了市场，而且受到了广泛的欢迎，大批的歌迷欣赏他的音乐，经过努力，哥哥终于实现了自己的音乐梦想。。A strange man comes into a house with only the wife.
