The new cook sees an opportunity to rouse his fellow staff to re-think...。故事描述一个叫迪亚戈的西班牙革命份子（共产党人），25年来为革命理想不懈奋斗，但因遭受西班牙当局的迫害而远走巴黎。一次在从西班牙回法国的路途中，他遇到了边境警察的检查盘问，多亏有个叫娜蒂妮的女大学生来帮他涉险过关，后来两人在巴黎相爱。迪亚戈在巴黎忙着筹备一场浩大的工人罢工运动，以呼应西班牙国内的革命党人被捕事件，但后来娜蒂妮却与激进的青年组织挂上号，并密谋在西班牙进行绑架人质的恐怖活动。迪亚戈谴责了他们的暴力倾向，然而为了革命事业最后他还是回到西班牙，但等待他的是天罗地网......。
