这是一部在生存与毁灭间行走的战争电影。在战争废墟的慷慨悲歌中，年轻的红军战士洪启辰接到军令，必须在48小时内炸毁敌人的弹药库。这是一条赴死的军令，他开始在危机四伏的群山里集结战友，带领伤残的同泽和敌人殊死搏斗。同时洪启辰还经历着战友们对于为何赴死的拷问，和大家相继死去的困境。时间一分一秒过去，任务似乎越来越不可能完成。有人因为信仰而选择坚持，有人忠于使命而毅然牺牲。影片用中国诗性电影美学讲述了中国1935年一次富有革命忠诚的军事行动，将残酷幻化于诗意，共同参与一次具有使命感的向死而生。。An inept gang of bank robbers, led by George The Brain, are caught and sentenced to 15 years hard labour each. When they are released from prison they start out to collect the money they had stolen and which George had hidden in a hollow tree during the chase in which they were caught.
