Yuni started experiencing supernatural terror during her ...。故事发生在在日本最南端的鸠海岛上，这里的居民只有49人，唯一的公共设施是一所小学，由于没有生源，再过几天鸠海小学即将废止，平均年龄63.5岁的鸠海岛将来也很可能成为无人岛。为了不让自己的家乡变为荒岛，岛民们急需孩子来这里上学。岛民仲间勇造来到东京，他想把七岁的外孙带回鸠海上学，但由于女儿的坚决反对只好作罢。不久，勇造在东京街头与一个叫做藤泽琉璃的女孩相遇，十一岁的琉璃父亲已故，被母亲寄养在福利院里。母亲对琉璃不闻不问，令琉璃养成反叛的个性。在征得琉璃母亲的同意后，勇造带着琉璃返回小岛。　　岛民们听说有孩子来这里上学，都赶到岸边欢迎琉璃，可没多久大家就领教了琉璃的叛逆性格。因为鸠海小学的早苗老师让琉璃弄直卷发，琉璃大发脾气后跳上一只小艇企图离开海岛，结果不会驾船的琉璃险些丧命，幸亏一名男子将她救上了岸。这名男子自称叫川岛达也，是东京来的美发师。川岛告诉琉璃自己本想自杀，因为看见她落水奋力营救反倒令自己忘记了自杀的事。川岛为琉璃剪好头发，琉璃以崭新的面貌开始迎接岛上的新生活，同琉璃一样在这里获得新生的还有川岛……。
